Pirate Camp has been great so far, mateys! We had a great time yesterday on a treasure hunt. The loot was ice cream bars!! We also went down to the park and got sprayed by a fire truck, after learning about fire safety. This morning, Captain Josiah Bones caught a five-pound largemouth bass. Wow!!
We have two teams- Red Team and Blue Team. The Red Team has Black Dog (Tori), Fire Ant (Haley), Pirate Curly (Ashley), and Swabby (Ana) as team members. The Blue Team has Captain Josiah Bones, Captain Black Eyebrow (Jonathan), Long JonMichael Silver, and me (Catalina)! Pirate Curly was the first pirate who had to walk the plank!
Yesterday, we also had a good time learning about the origin of evil. We heard the story of Eve and the apple and the snake, and we made our own snakes out of old ties. SSSSS! This morning, as I got out of the shower, Swabby's diamond-print snake slithered under the door. She did a good job on the stitches.
We also finished our flags after I gave a quick report on the colors and designs used on pirate flags. The Red Teams design is a skull across an hourglass with crossed fishing poles. The Blue Teams design is a black widow spider with the red hourglass and the message TIME IS RUNNING OUT. THIS FROM L.J.M.S., J.B., C.B.E., C. (The hourglass design was intended to show that time was running out for the pirates' victims if they did not surrender at once).
Pirate camp has been a lot of fun!! Thanks to Beauty Grams and Captain Gramps for organizing it!
